Before you start
  • A connected custom domain (SEO doesn't matter on a free .wixsite.com URL)

Step by step

  1. 01

    Open the SEO Setup Checklist

Dashboard → Marketing & SEO → SEO → Get Found on Google. Wix runs you through a wizard — fill it in, it generates a baseline.

  2. 02

    Set homepage title and description

Editor → Pages → click the gear next to Home → SEO Basics. Title ≤60 chars including your brand, description ≤155 chars selling the click.

  3. 03

    Repeat for every page

Don't leave the default 'Home | My Site'. Every page needs unique title + description — Google ignores duplicates.

  4. 04

    Add a social share image

Same SEO Basics panel → Social Share. Upload a 1200×630 px image. This is what shows when someone shares your link on Facebook/LinkedIn.

  5. 05

    Submit the sitemap

Wix auto-generates it at yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. Open Google Search Console, add your site, then Sitemaps → submit 'sitemap.xml'.
