Step by step

  1. 01

NEVER ask ChatGPT to 'write a blog post about X'

That produces the exact same generic article 10,000 other sites already published. Google's helpful-content system filters them out within weeks.

  2. 02

Step 1 — Use it for research

Prompt: 'I'm writing a post on [topic] for [audience]. List the 8 most common sub-questions and 5 commonly-missed angles.' This is where AI is genuinely strong.

  3. 03

Step 2 — Outline with YOUR insights

Take the AI sub-questions, then add your own examples, data, and opinions to each. The outline must be 70%+ yours.

  4. 04

Step 3 — Use AI to draft individual sections, not the whole post

Prompt section-by-section: 'Write a 100-word section explaining [point]. Use a conversational tone, second person, no fluff.' Edit each section as it comes back.

  5. 05

Step 4 — Add originality assets

An original screenshot, your own data, a quote from someone you interviewed. AI cannot replicate these — they're your moat against the AI-content flood.

  6. 06

Step 5 — Heavy human rewrite of intro and conclusion

These are the most-quoted sections (by readers AND AI Overviews). They must sound like a human you'd want to read. Rewrite from scratch if needed.

  7. 07

Step 6 — Run a detector before publishing

Use Originality.ai or GPTZero. Target under 30% AI-detected. If higher, rewrite the flagged paragraphs.
