How to add your first product on Shopify

Set up a product with photos, variants, pricing and SEO in your Shopify admin.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Open Products → Add product

    Give it a title and description.

  2. 02

    Add media

    Upload at least 3 photos at 2000×2000px on white background.

  3. 03

    Pricing and inventory

    Set price, compare-at price (optional) and SKU.

  4. 04

    Variants

    Add sizes/colors as variants — each gets its own SKU and inventory.

  5. 05

    SEO and publish

    Edit the search listing preview, then Save and Active.
