Before you start
  • A LinkedIn account

Step by step

  1. 01

    Banner image

Replace the default blue. Use a 1584×396 px banner that names your service and outcome ('I help SaaS founders hit $1M ARR'). Free templates on Canva.

  2. 02

    Profile photo

Headshot, face filling 60% of the frame, neutral background, smiling slightly. Looks-friendly outperforms looks-professional in 2026.

  3. 03

    Headline (220 chars)

Skip 'CEO at X'. Use the formula: [Who you help] | [How you help them] | [Proof]. Example: 'Helping B2B SaaS hit profitable growth | Ex-Stripe | 50+ founders advised.'

  4. 04

    About section

First 3 lines are the only ones visible before 'see more'. Open with a hook ('I've helped 50 founders go from $0 to $1M'). Then who you help, how, and a CTA — usually a Calendly link or newsletter.

  5. 05

    Featured section

Pin your 3 best assets: a case study, your newsletter, your service page. This is your portfolio.

  6. 06

    Experience descriptions

Rewrite every role as outcomes, not responsibilities. 'Grew revenue from $2M to $8M in 18 months' beats 'Responsible for growth strategy'.

  7. 07

    Turn on Creator Mode

Adds a Follow button (vs Connect) and 5 hashtags to your profile. Essential if you post content.
